In recent years, the demand for docuseries has increased. Audiences are compelled by stories that challenge our thinking, expand our minds, and give us a better understanding of the world we all live in. With this demand increase, also comes the question of what to watch. With so much to choose from, the process of figuring out where to start is a feat no single person should bear alone. Luckily enough, your friends over at Peacock have done the heavy lifting for you. Here’s a list of our picks:

1. Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss

Many have tried to unlock the key to happiness. The lucky ones find this key and hold it close while the not-so-lucky go on without ever finding it. In this five-part series, watch Rainn Wilson, former assistant to the regional manager Dwight Schrute and self-proclaimed mope venture across the world to uncover what makes some places happier than others. On this soul-searching journey, Rainn embarks on some of the most exciting and bizarre experiences of his life as he tries to unlock the key.

2. Hell of a Cruise

In the early days of Covid-19, unsuspecting cruisers stepped onto their ship to explore the world, but what they didn’t know is that the virus had boarded that ship too. Watch the footage shot by frightened passengers and employees as they share their side of this harrowing tale.

3. Shadowland

In search for truth, award-winning filmmaker Joe Berlinger and his team attempt to figure out why Americans can’t agree on what’s true and what’s not. This deeply immersive six-part docuseries reveals how conspiracy theories have moved from the margins to the mainstream, exploring how people come to their beliefs, and what makes these theories so alluring.

4. The End is Nye

Watch as the renowned educator and your favorite science guy Bill Nye dives into some of the world’s most epic threats imaginable — natural and unnatural. Each episode explores one specific disaster; Nye then demystifies them using science to show how we can survive, alleviate, and prevent them.

5. Fireside History with Michael Beschloss

Presidential historian Michael Beschloss sifts through NBC News archives to revisit monumental historical events from voting rights to September 11th and then provides a present-day perspective on them.

6. I Love You, You Hate Me

This thought-provoking doc looks at the cultural phenomenon that divided a nation: Barney. That’s right—the big, purple dinosaur meant to teach about sharing, caring, and love, somehow sparked a shocking backlash.
