Content availability may vary over time.

Is there anything more romantic than curling up on the couch and watching a gruesome murder? Well, maybe. But according to a survey we conducted in partnership with Tinder, nearly 63% of all daters believe watching horror movies together is a great date activity and nearly half agreed that a shared interest in horror movies can indicate deeper compatibility. We at Peacock have your scary movie date night covered with over 500 options to choose from, including these top five picks:

1. Halloween (2018)

It doesn’t have to be October 31 to enjoy Halloween. In this sequel to the 1978 classic, Laurie Strode, played by Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, confronts her past and prepares to face the masked killer, Michael Myers, 40 years after she outwitted him as a teenager. A nostalgic nod to the original and a fresh take on the slasher genre, this movie is perfect for those who prefer a few screams with their cuddles.

2. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1975)

One of the original slasher films, this 1974 classic leaves most of its blood and gore to the imagination, but, still, the roar of Leatherface’s terrifying chainsaw is enough to send a chill down anyone’s spine. Inspired by true events, the movie follows a group of friends who fight for their survival after encountering a family of killers in the rural Texas countryside. Whether or not you think your date is the one, Leatherface is sure to make them look like marriage material by comparison.

3. Cult of Chucky (2017)

There’s just something creepy about Chucky the doll. Maybe it’s the plastic eyes. Or maybe it’s the smile. Oh, or maybe it’s that he’s possessed with the soul of a serial killer and wields a sharpened kitchen knife. Whatever the answer, in this seventh installment of the Child’s Play franchise, Chucky doesn’t act alone. Instead, he recruits a cult of murderers to terrorize his victims. And for those that aren’t satisfied with just one date with Chucky, Peacock also has nearly every Child’s Play film available to stream, including the classic Child’s Play 2 (1990) and Bride of Chucky (1998). Because if Chucky can find love, we’re sure you can too.

4. The Purge: Anarchy (2014)

The Purge follows one family as a gang of masked killers invade their home during an annual event where all crime, including murder, is legal. But The Purge: Anarchy takes the terrifying concept to new heights as it follows a group of people struggling to survive the lawless streets of LA during a night with no rules. Streaming this movie is sure to get you and your date’s adrenaline pumping and maybe locking the doors too.

5. Saw (2004)

Would you and your date like to play a game? Less of an all-out gore fest than its successors, Saw feels more like a dark mystery. The movie follows two men who wake up in a gruesome game orchestrated by the iconic Jigsaw killer. As they solve his puzzle, two detectives close in on bringing his twisted operation down. But if you and your date are looking for something even more bloody, Peacock has the first seven Saw films available to stream, each one featuring a Jigsaw puzzle more terrifying than the last. While streaming Saw, you can grab your date’s hand and feel lucky it’s still attached to the rest of them.
