As Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent marked a new chapter of her reality television life by joining the cast of The Valley Season 3, she broke the fourth wall during Peacock’s Extended and Uncensored Part 1 of the Reunion to describe how her friendships have been impacted by filming.
“You know, there are a lot of times where my social life does come from filming, and I love that,” she candidly admitted during the episode. “I mean, Vanderpump Rules, prime example. Kristen [Doute], Brittany [Cartwright], like, I didn’t know those people, and they became my family, and my dearest friends.”
The remark came after The Valley reunion host Andy Cohen asked Lala and fellow The Valley castmember Jasmine Goode about the authenticity of their friendship. As he put it, “Jasmine, at Kristen’s Y2K night, you implied that Lala’s friendship with you was not 100 percent real. What did you mean by that?”
From there, Jasmine broke the fourth wall as well.

Responding to Andy's question about her friendship with Lala, Jasmine said, “For me, it was just saying like, look, I don’t know if we were not doing this — I mean filming — would we would be hanging out?"
Lala, for her part, said that if she and Jasmine aren't as close as they used to be when they both worked at SUR, it's simply because a lot has changed in her life over the years. “In that time period, from then until now, I got sober, I met someone who really isolated me, then I became a mother and a lot of friendships shifted,” Lala explained.
Jasmine added that she was simply weary of a relationship with Lala. “I think that for me, I’ve always kept an eye on people. Like I don’t just let anybody in,” she shared. ”So I just question things and I think it’s okay for me to say that. Like, it’s the first time I’m seeing her in like years hanging out, and…I think that’s a valid question or something to say.”
Lala Kent reveals the differences between filming The Valley and Vanderpump Rules
Although Lala admitted during The Valley reunion that reality television is an important part of her life and friendships, she hasn't been shy in proclaiming her hesitation to jump back into filming when she joined The Valley Season 3.
“I was very, very concerned about going back onto reality TV after how I left Vanderpump Rules,” Lala told Bravo Insider during BravoCon 2025. “I had to do a lot of healing during that time, and taking accountability, so I didn’t know if I wanted to be in this line of work.”
After making the jump, Lala's since revealed that filming the two shows has been like night and day for her.
"When I think about Vanderpump Rules, every season of that show was so wild and chaotic for me,” she told Bravo Insider. “There was just so much happening where I just never felt — even though I had the time of my life — I never felt like I truly knew my place in this world, because every year I was just facing something that was very, very challenging.”
"This season on The Valley, I finally felt like I was a part of a show where I laid down roots on my own with nobody's help," Lala concluded. "I was finally independent and living life on my own terms, and I felt very centered and grounded. I finally have peace in my life and I deserve that."
