RHOM Season 5 Reunion Part 2 Recap
Warning: Spoilers Ahead!
We jumped back into the thick of it this week for Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Miami Season 5 Reunion, with Alexia’s defense mode quickly softening and turning apologetic to both Julia and Guerdy, who she said she wished could have planned her wedding had they not been caught up in miscommunication. Only a few minutes in the cast went to break, but the cameras stayed rolling to capture some candid moments behind the scenes.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
Alexia and Adriana's Backstage Argument
In a rare peek backstage, an emotional Alexia approached Julia in her dressing room to thank her for being receptive to Alexia’s apology. Things took a turn when the conversation turned to the subject of Adriana, who was sharing a room with Julia and couldn’t help but interject, causing her and Alexia to start a heated exchange. Alexia diminished their years-long friendship, saying that it’s been a superficial relationship and that Adriana is jealous of her. Julia tried to maintain peace and advocated for finding a resolution and not always coming for each other’s throats which triggered more emotion from Alexia who said she doesn’t want to be titled a mean girl. Accusations continued to fly when Adriana called out Alexia’s “crocodile tears,” and Alexia fired back that Adriana is “the devil” and walked back to set, whispering to Marysol that “it’s going to go down.”
Julia Opens Up About Wife Wife’s Cancer Diagnosis
During Season 5, Julia and her wife, tennis legend Martina Navratilova, took steps to expand their family through adoption as Julia struggled to accept becoming an empty nester. Their plans have since been put on hold, as Martina has recently been diagnosed with both early-stage breast and throat cancer. “When you’re adopting a child, it has to be about the child, and right now everything is about Martina and her getting healthy,” Julia told Andy and the ladies. She said that watching the season back has been emotional, having navigated her share of difficulties with Martina as they entered a new and quieter phase of life together, which she would give anything to have back over the new challenges they are facing. Everyone was hopeful that Martina will make a recovery, and in Andy’s words, “the whole Bravo universe is praying for her and pulling for her.”
Nicole Defends Herself Against Larsa’s Accusations
Tensions from last season between Nicole and Larsa carried over into Season 5, this time centered around a mystery DM sent to Marysol and subsequently repeated by Larsa that Nicole slept with every doctor in the hospital she works at. The unfounded rumor got Larsa uninvited from Nicole’s engagement party, but Larsa showed no remorse. Amidst plenty of arguing between the two women, Andy jumped in, confused how Larsa couldn’t see why Nicole would be upset. In the end, Larsa was regretful for her comment and said that she didn’t mean anything by it, though Nicole didn’t seem in a hurry to forgive her.
Lisa Noticed Red Flags in Her Marriage
Turning the conversation back to Lisa, Andy asked the group if anyone suspected that things weren’t right in the Hochstein marriage. Guerdy said she had observed that things were off with Lenny, sharing that at an unaired charity event, he wouldn’t join the private space with his wife and the rest of the crew, seemingly preferring to mingle with strangers. Lisa stood by the fact that she was blindsided by his recent actions, however she did perceive things that were out of character from their dwindling intimacy to Lenny working out often and eating well, something that she tried to encourage him to do their whole marriage. The biggest bomb-drop of all came from Kiki, who as a model in Miami Beach had been to many of Lisa and Lenny’s extravagant house parties. She said she’d heard of Lenny being a cheater for a long time and revealed that she personally knew models that he’s cheated with in the past, leaving us with yet another shocking cliffhanger going into the third and final part of the reunion next week.
