Week 4 Love Island USA Season 6 Recap: Episodes 21-26
Casa Amor comes home, wreaking emotional havoc in Villa.
The tears fell like tropical rain and the air was thick with emotional humidity in the most dramatic week yet of Love Island USA’s jaw-dropping sixth season. The boys returned from Casa Amor in a shocking recoupling ceremony, the Islanders reacted to America’s feedback, and Movie Night began.
Here’s what you need to know to catch up on the story so far before the next thrilling episode drops.
[Warning: Spoilers ahead!]
A Fourth of July barbecue — Love Island USA style
Holiday food traditions are important ways that we come together to celebrate special days and create shared memories. Do you have a favorite food that your family eats every year on the Fourth of July? Well, Love Island has its own food tradition: making hot people in bathing suits move food and beverages across distances by spitting it into each other’s mouths.
In this season’s food transfer challenge, our Islanders celebrated with a Casa vs. Villa showdown, relaying hot dogs, pulled pork, and condiments from mouth to mouth across the lawn. When the dust (and our stomachs) had settled, the Villa emerged victorious.
A video from Casa Amor muddies the waters
What happens in Casa, stays in Casa. Right?
Wrong! As the Islanders in both villas tested old connections and explored new ones, Kaylor got a text — with a video from Casa Amor. The girls gathered around her phone to watch clips of Kordell getting physical with Daia and Aaron canoodling with Daniela. The reactions were explosive, with Kaylor sobbing and Serena fuming at the revelations of the boys’ behavior. The clips were reviewed over and over by everyone in the Villa as two of the longest-running pre-Casa couples are suddenly thrown into jeopardy.
Before going to bed outside in Soul Ties, Kaylor yells, “F***. You. Casa!” loudly enough that the boys hear it all the way in Casa Amor.
Casa comes home — with little amor
A reckoning came the following day, when the Casa Amor recoupling ceremony was announced and the Islanders had to make their decisions: stick with the couple they were in before Casa Amor, or recouple in a new connection with one of the new bombshells?
Ariana arrived and the girls gathered ‘round the firepit to announce their decisions and await the arrivals of the boys (who may or may not walk in with someone new from Casa Amor):
Liv, who was single before Casa Amor, chose to recouple with the Bombshell, Caine.
Nicole, who was coupled up with Kendall, chose to stay loyal — and Kendall walked in alone, reuniting them as a couple.
Leah, who was coupled up with Miguel before Casa, chose to stay loyal — but Miguel walked in with Sierra, leaving Leah single and vulnerable.
JaNa, who was coupled up with Kenny pre-Casa, chose to stay loyal — but Kenny walks in with Catherine, leaving JaNa single and devastated.
Kaylor, who was coupled up with Aaron, chose to become single in the wake of the explosive video of Aaron’s behavior from Casa — and Aaron walked in alone with an ecstatic “Let’s go!” before being confronted with a very different reception than he expected. Both are left single.
Rob, who was single before Casa, walked in with Daniela, whom Aaron had connected with before deciding to return alone to the Villa.
Serena, who was coupled up with Kordell before seeing footage of him in Casa Amor, chooses to become single — and Kordell walks in recoupled with Daia.
Who got sent home?
The remaining boys (George, Ignacio, Jacobi, Jalen) and girls (Destiny, Sydney) among the Casa Amor Bombshells were left without a connection and sent home.
A Villa in flames
After the fireworks of the recoupling ceremony had concluded, emotions ran high across the entire Villa as Islanders took stock of the carnage and set about repairing or affirming connections in the wake of the events of Casa Amor.
JaNa, hurt by Kenny’s choice to return with Catherine, confronted him with her frustration, leaving Kenny in tears. Over the next couple of days, they reconnected and seemed likely to recouple at the next opportunity.
Serena made no bones about how disrespected she felt by Kordell’s choices and behavior in Casa Amor. As Kordell struggled to apologize and make amends while also getting to know Daia, he risked losing the opportunity to pursue either connection.
Aaron and Kaylor went through a rollercoaster couple of days as Aaron tried to reassure Kaylor, who is initially quick to forgive — before new revelations threw Aaron’s trustworthiness in question yet again.
Leah and Miguel reconnected over a series of chats and seemed likely to recouple despite Miguel bringing Sierra back from Casa Amor.
Kendall and Nicole were reunited, seemingly the only couple to pass the test of Casa Amor, and later became the first couple of the season to spend a night alone together in the Hideaway.
Islanders receive America’s feedback
Just as things started to settle down, a new challenge was announced featuring unvarnished opinions about the Islanders from Love Island fans on social media. As the “You Drive Me Crazy” challenge kicked off, each couple had to walk a car across a track, pausing to pull cards with social media posts about their fellow Islanders with their names removed. They read the comments out and guess who the posts are about, with the accused Islander being drenched in slime after the truth is revealed.
The posts brought America’s external opinions into the Villa, calling into question the behavior of several Islanders who may not have been completely truthful about what went down in Casa Amor, and leaving others stunned after hearing what the public thinks about them.
Movie Night: part one
It wouldn’t be summer without blockbuster films on the big screen, and the same is true in the Love Island USA Villa. Popcorn is popped and Movie Night kicks off with the boys and girls competing in trivia questions for the chance to select which clips will air out their dirty laundry on the silver screen.
These are the films that have been shown so far, with Movie Night set to continue in the next episode:
Idle Hands, revealing that Aaron used the same special handshake with Daniela that he has shared with Kaylor.
B***h Perfect, showing the conversation between Rob, Liv, and Kaylor where the two girls delivered hot takes on Leah’s hand in the decision to send Andrea home.
The Wingman of Casa Street, depicting Kendall’s repeated cheering on of Kordell in his pursuit of Daia during Casa.
Wet Hot American Summer, in which a fuller view of the extent of Aaron’s connection with Daniela is shown, calling into question the veracity of his explanation to Kaylor.
She’s Just Not That Into You, airing a conversation early in the season where Serena and Leah express doubts about Kordell as a match for Serena.
The Devil Wears Overalls, a scene from just after Rob had recoupled with Andrea in which Leah rips into him to the girls in unvarnished terms.
