About The Paralympics
The Paralympics is a multisport event for athletes with disabilities. The Paralympics have grown considerably since the inaugural 1960 games, which started six days after the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. 400 athletes from 23 nations, all in wheelchairs, competed in only eight sports, including ones we know and love today, like swimming and basketball.

Team USA
Team USA has participated in every Summer and Winter Paralympics and currently holds the most all-time Paralympic Games medals for a total of 2,742. Team USA’s strongest Paralympic sport is para track & field, followed by swimming, wrestling, biathlon, and para ice hockey.
