Ready for some serious suburban secrets? Peacock is diving headfirst into the mystery-comedy waters with a fresh take on the 1989 cult classic The ‘Burbs, and we’ve got the inside scoop on the star-studded cast.  

The reimagined Peacock Original, starring and executive produced by Keke Palmer, centers on a young couple who, after reluctantly moving into the husband’s childhood home, discover that their quiet neighborhood isn’t as peaceful as it seems. Think long-lost secrets, new deadly threats, and an all-around wild ride through suburbia. Oh, and did we mention the cast?

What is The ‘Burbs about?

Set in present-day suburbia, The ‘Burbs follows a young couple who move into the husband’s childhood home. What starts as a typical suburban life quickly unravels as new neighbors arrive with explosive secrets. Prepare for suspense, dark humor, and plenty of twists you didn’t see coming. 

Who is behind The ‘Burbs?

The series comes from Imagine Entertainment and Fuzzy Door, with executive producers Brian Grazer (Empire, Arrested Development), Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus, as well as Seth MacFarlane (Ted), Erica Huggins, and Aimee Carlson. Plus, executive producer Celeste Hughey (Palm Royale, Dead to Me) is penning the script, and Rachel Shukert (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) is also executive producing with Palmer. 

Dana Olsen, the writer of the 1989 film, is a co-executive producer with Amy Aniobi, Zora Bikangaga, and Neil Reynolds. 

And the cherry on top? Cross and Daisy Jones and the Six director Nzingha Stewart is stepping behind the camera to direct the first episode and serve as an executive producer.

When will The 'Burbs premiere?

The premiere date has yet to be announced, but details will be released soon. Fans can stay tuned for more updates on when the new series will drop on Peacock.
