If our holiday caroling didn’t scare you off, there’s a list of brand-new TV shows and movies coming to Peacock in December, including some returning classics and a slate of Originals that are sure to knock your stockings off (sorry). It’s officially the time of year when rotting in your bed and binging a show is socially acceptable — don’t let the opportunity go to waste.  

Speak No Evil

After befriending a British couple with a mute son, Americans Ben (Scoot McNairy) and Louise (Mackenzie Davis) accept an unusual invitation to bring their daughter for a weekend at an idyllic country estate. When they discover their hosts are hiding sinister motives, Ben and Louise fear their family may be pawns in a disturbing plot. Led by James McAvoy as a charismatic man masking unspeakable darkness, a dream holiday warps into an unnerving nightmare in this shocking thriller from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures.

Laid 

When a woman (Stephanie Hsu) finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways, she must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward. Laid is a rom-com with a dark twist, where the answer to “Why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?” is a resounding “Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.”

The Waltons

This historical drama follows the lives of the Walton family and the trials of farm-living in rural Virginia. Set in the height of the Great Depression, John-boy Walton (Richard Thomas), his parents, and his six siblings navigate earning enough money from their farm after leaving city life, and are introduced to a slew of characters who make up their small town. The story is based on the life of Earl Hamner Jr., who created the series and the novel it was based on, Spencer’s Mountain. Ranked as one of the Top 50 dramas across streaming platforms, all nine seasons of The Waltons will be available on Peacock.
