All 6 Seasons of Community Coming to Peacock Apr 1. No, Really.

Good morning, Greendale students. It’s time to get the study group back together because every season of Community is coming to Peacock. Every classic TV and movie reference inside Abed’s head, every campus event that descends into total chaos, every background joke that only the most dedicated fans pick up on... all of that will be available to stream on Peacock. 

OK, maybe you missed the Community train when it first aired on NBC back in 2009. That’s cool, we’ll catch you up. Community stars Joel McHale as Jeff Winger, a lawyer whose bachelor’s degree is found to have some legitimacy issues. He goes back to college to earn a degree that’s printed on paper, rather than sent as an email attachment. Hoping to impress a fellow Spanish 101 classmate Jeff starts a study group and soon finds himself leading the band of characters he attracts. In addition to Jeff, there’s TV and movie-obsessed Abed (Danny Pudi), self-questioning jock Troy (Donald Glover), burned-out overachiever Annie (Alison Brie), aspiring activist Britta (Gillian Jacobs), moist towelette magnate Pierce (Chevy Chase), and devout single mom Shirley (Yvette Nicole-Brown). Outside the study group, you’ll meet Ben Chang (Ken Jeong), a Spanish professor whose qualifications are... questionable, and Craig Pelton (Jim Rash), the well-meaning and obsessive dean. Plus a ton of other unforgettable characters we dont’ have room to list here. 

At its core, the show is about a group of misfits discovering new aspects of themselves and finding a family in each other. It’s also, at times, a skewering of sitcom tropes, a critique of academia, a legal satire, and a full-on war movie — among many other things. This show goes places you would never expect and remains unpredictable through all six seasons. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be hooked immediately. You may even break out the magnifying glass to pick out recurring characters in the background. More likely, you’ll get some new in-jokes and when your friends are inevitably confused, you’ll be like, “Oh it’s from Community! You HAVE to watch Community.” And then you’ll start your own study group and form your own found family based around your new favorite show. 

Now is the perfect time to get on board too. Last year, Peacock announced Community: The Movie, from series creator Dan Harmon, would come exclusively to the platform. “Six Seasons and a Movie” was a rallying cry from fans of the show back when it was airing. Now, it’s becoming a reality. And you can be a part of the fun.
