Peacock has released the trailer for The Day of the Jackal, an upcoming thriller series based on the all-time classic 1971 novel of the same name by author Frederick Forsyth. Though the Jackal must escape the clutches of the law as he travails across Europe, we know exactly where and when to find him: on Peacock this November, of course.
When will The Day of the Jackal premiere?
The first five episodes of The Day of the Jackal will premiere Nov 14 on Peacock, followed by weekly installments every Thursday until the double finale Dec 12. The series launches Nov 7 on Sky in the UK.
What is The Day of the Jackal about?
The 10-episode series follows an unrivaled and highly elusive lone assassin, known as the Jackal (Eddie Redmayne), who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. But following his latest kill, he may have met his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.
The Day of the Jackal is directed by Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones), written by Ronan Bennet (Top Boy), and stars Oscar winner Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), BAFTA winner Lynch (The Woman King), and Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist). The supporting cast includes Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jon O'Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara.
Redmayne serves as an executive producer, along with Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant of Carnival Films, Sam Hoyle of Sky Studios, Sue Naegle, and Kirk. Lynch is a co-executive producer with Chris Hall as a producer and Forsyth as a consulting producer.
