The Wild Robot Coming to Peacock in January
Have those tissues handy.
Mark your calendars: Peacock will exclusively stream The Wild Robot, DreamWorks Animation’s acclaimed Golden Globe®-nominated film, beginning Jan 24.
Nominated for four Golden Globes, three Critics Choice Awards, and 10 Annie Awards, the heartwarming tale features a stellar voice cast led by Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Bill Nighy, Laid’s Stephanie Hsu, Matt Berry, Ving Rhames, Mark Hamill, and Catherine O’Hara.
Adapted from Peter Brown’s bestselling sci-fi kids' book, The Wild Robot is an epic adventure that follows Roz (Nyong’o), a robot who is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and is forced to adapt to the harsh surroundings. Over time, Roz begins building relationships with the animals on the island, including a clever fox (Pascal), and becomes the adoptive parent to an orphaned gosling (Kit Connor).
The Certified Fresh film is a powerful story about self-discovery, an examination of the bridge between technology and nature, and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.
There’s a lot to rave about with the film’s music, too. Oscar®-winning filmmaker and Emmy®- and Grammy®-nominated composer Kris Bowers wrote the score, while Grammy®-winning singer-songwriter Maren Morris co-wrote and sings two original songs, “Kiss the Sky” and “Even When I’m Not.”
Peacock subscribers get access to award-winning films and blockbuster favorites from Universal, Blumhouse, Focus Features, Illumination, and DreamWorks Animation. Other DreamWorks Animation titles on platform include The Bad Guys, Spirit Untamed, the Kung Fu Panda franchise, and the Shrek films.
Stream The Wild Robot exclusively on Peacock starting Jan 24.
