Twisted Metal Renewed for Season 2
Peacock’s high-octane action comedy is gearing up for more.
You might want to buckle up. Peacock has announced that Twisted Metal, the critically acclaimed action-comedy video game adaptation, has been renewed for Season 2.
What to know about Twisted Metal
The turbocharged Peacock Original comes from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the duo behind Deadpool and Zombieland, with a fresh take on the classic PlayStation video game series. Forbes has called it “one of the best video game adaptations [they’ve] ever seen.”
In the show’s first season, Anthony Mackie plays John Doe, a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz), a badass axe-wielding car thief, by his side, he must face the savage dangers of the open road, including Sweet Tooth (Samoa Joe) a deranged, ice-cream-truck-driving clown.
Twisted Metal Season 1 currently has a 94% Rotten Tomato audience score, and the popular show is Peacock’s most-binged Original. Currently, it ranks among Peacock’s top three Originals of all time and continues to attract new viewers every week.
What do we know about Season 2?
Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) has announced that the forthcoming season will continue the story of John Doe, Quiet, and Sweet Tooth and see them “face off against familiar faces and new grim foes in the long-awaited Twisted Metal tournament.”
