Andrea Edwards and Albert “Lamar” Jackson (Season 1) 

Andrea was raised a Mormon, and her impending marriage to Albert, who was convicted of robbery and imprisoned for 18 years, is scandalous to her Mormon friends. The couple’s bickering leads to a dramatic exit. In the first episode, she looks to buy Albert a car. 

Johnna DiGrigoli and Garrett Tanner (Season 1) 

“Wow, this guy has a really hot mugshot,” Johnna says of her first impression of Garrett. Johnna is gearing up for marriage – and sexual intimacy – when Garrett is released. Early in the first episode, Garrett has anxiety over meeting Johnna’s father. 

Lacey and Shane Whitlow (Season 2)

Lacey was engaged to her high school sweetheart, John Slater, who was in prison. While browsing online prison dating sites in her downtime, she came across Shane's photo and switched partners.
