Love Island: All-Stars Season 2 Recap: Episodes 28-33
It's getting juicy in the villa.
Love Island contestants are known to be quick to move on, but sometimes the past just can’t be left in the past. Unresolved feelings resurface to wreak havoc in the villa, while the islanders gain outside insights into their relationships from the public and their families. Not sure which opinion is more daunting to hear.
Here is what happened in the Love Island: All-Stars villa this past week.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Sweet Rewards
After ending last week with a dumping, this week’s Love Island: All-Stars starts off on a romantic note with Gabby and Casey going on a dinner date for Gabby’s birthday. Harriet and Ronnie earn a night together in the hideaway. It’s the calm before the storm as they say.
Honesty Has Consequences
The islanders are challenged to a game of “To Be Honest” where they give their candid opinions on which couple is the most boring, most likely to cheat on each other, and who is in it for the clout. Couples Ronnie and Harriet, and Curtis and Ekin-Su’s past troubles are constantly brought up as islanders justify their choices.
Tina and Chuggs being the newest couple get the short end of the stick as they are called out for having the least humor and lacking compatibility. By the end of the game, no major fights have broken out and no shocking news have dropped, defying the laws of the Love Island universe. That is until the islanders receive a text revealing that the three couples who have the most votes by the islanders are at risk of getting dumped.
The vulnerable couples are:
- Ekin-Su and Curtis
- Harriet and Ronnie
- Tina and Chuggs
The public decides which couple they want to save. In the meantime, the vulnerable pairs will need to live on with the knowledge that this could be their last night in the villa. The next day, the audience’s votes are revealed. Harriet and Ronnie receive the most votes with Ekin-Su and Curtis coming in second. Tina and Chuggs receive the least number of votes and are dumped from the island.
The remaining couples are:
- Catherine and Omar
- Elma and Sammy
- Ekin-Su and Curtis
- Gabby and Casey
- Grace and Luca
- Harriet and Ronnie
Juicy Q&A
The remaining Islanders learn that each couple gets to ask the public two questions, sending each of them straight into brainstorm mode. After deciding how they are going to word their questions about their own compatibilities, the couples move on to the juicy part – formulating questions that will stir up drama (ahem, I mean bring clarity) – for other couples.
All-Stars Dinner
The evening begins with the audience answering the couples’ questions about their own compatibility. Casey and Gabby, Omar and Catherine, and Harriet and Ronnie all receive reassurance, leading the islanders to comment on how the challenge is going. Catherine chimes in with a “until it’s not” and sure enough things start getting heated.
In response to Curtis and Ekin-Su’s question about their relationship, the majority of the audience voted that they were not compatible. Ekin-Su falls silent after hearing that. When Graces asks her how she is feeling, Ekin-Su responds with “I don’t want to talk.” The camera cuts to Elma holding back an inching smile.
The audience clears Casey’s name when the majority votes that he is not a clout chaser. Two couples ask questions directed at the Luca, Grace, and Samie triangle. Elma and Sammy ask the public whether Ekin-Su and Curtis are the weakest connection in the villa. Although the audience rejects this claim, Ekin-Su and Curtis feel that the question was unnecessary and motivated by spite. Curtis calls this behavior childish, and Sammy repurposes the claim for Curtis’ past mistakes. The islanders giggle at the back and forth until Elma tells Curtis to “f*ck off.”
Clear the Air or Fuel the Fire
As the rest of the islanders do their best to eavesdrop, Ekin-Su and Curtis pull Elma and Sammy for a chat. Ekin-Su points out the lingering animosity from the heart rate challenge. Elma refuses to apologize for telling Curtis to “f*ck off.” Everything blows up and Elma walks off while saying, “Do sh*tty things, get sh*tty prizes.”
The next day Ekin-Su tells the girls that Elma has changed since she was voted favorite girl. She also hypothesizes that Elma is targeting Ekin-Su and Curtis to redirect the scrutiny that her and Sammy might face for their age gap.
Videos From Home
While the boys scurry off for a game of padel, the girls receive long-awaited calls from home. These calls are filled with reassurances over their partners as the girls tear up about how they miss home. Catherine’s friend Whitney reveals that she isn’t feeling Sammy or Casey. Ekin-Su’s brother tells her to be careful as some of the girls might not have her best interest at heart.
Villa’s Got Talent
As if the islanders have not already impressed us enough with their expert flirting this season, they pull out their secret skills in the All-Stars Talent Show. Gymnastics, balloon-animal making, headstands, and, of course, lots of dancing from ballroom master Curtis.
Casey pulls out his puppet “Salty,” who has a lot to say. Salty starts off strong by shading Omar’s calculated strategy to kiss Tina twice without getting in trouble with Catherine, leaving the other couples fearing for their turn. While Gabby watches through her fingers, Salty makes his rounds, poking fun at anything and everything – whether it’s the power dynamic between Harriet and Ronnie or Elma and Sammy’s age gap, truly no stones are left unturned.
The islanders pick Ekin-Su and Curtis as the winners, and they’re gifted with a night in the hideaway.
The Boys Get Their Calls
Curtis contemplates whether he should ask Ekin-Su to be his girlfriend now or wait until they are out of the villa. Omar expresses his desire to be exclusive with Catherine. Casey, aside from learning about how much his family loves Gabby, gets a good roasting over his wardrobe choices.
Valentine’s Day Surprise
While the boys are reuniting with their loved ones, the girls are out buying supplies for their Valentine’s Day dates. Later, Elma and Sammy make their relationship exclusive, and Curtis asks Ekin-Su to be his girlfriend. Excitement and romance flutter around the villa. However, those feelings are put on pause when Harriet receives a text: The public has been voting for their favorite couples and the three with the least number of votes will be dumped.
The three couples with the lowest number of votes are:
- Harriet and Ronnie
- Catherine and Omar
- Elma and Sammy
In a twist, the remaining couples learn that the dumped islanders will return to decide who stays and who goes.
