SNL Announces Hosts and Musical Guests for Season 50

See the lineup for the first 10 shows, starting Sept 28.

Tri-colored index cards and font-worthy handwriting can only mean one thing: Saturday Night Live thumbtacked up its lineup for Season 50.

Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks on the same show? John Mulaney with Chappell Roan? Charli XCX doing double duty? Chris Rock and Martin Short? Has SNL been peeking at my vision board? Here’s the schedule for the first eight shows.

Sept 28 – Host Jean Smart with Musical Guest Jelly Roll

SNL will launch its milestone 50th season with Jean Smart hosting for the first time. The six-time Emmy® Award winner just won her third Emmy® for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Hacks.

Jelly Roll will make his musical guest debut. Currently on tour, the Grammy®-nominated artist’s new album, Beautifully Broken, will be released Oct 11.

Oct 5 – Host Nate Bargatze with Musical Guest Coldplay

Nate Bargatze will make his second appearance as SNL host on Oct 5. Bargatze’s The Be Funny Tour continues this fall with dates nationwide.

Coldplay will perform as musical guest for the eighth time. The band’s 10th studio album, Moon Music, will be released Oct 4.

Oct 12 – Host Ariana Grande with Musical Guest Stevie Nicks

Ariana Grande will host SNL for the second time on Oct 12. Following this year’s release of her latest album, Eternal Sunshine, the Grammy® winner next stars in Wicked, in theaters Nov 22.

Stevie Nicks will mark her second appearance as musical guest, following her first appearance in 1983. Nicks is a Grammy®-winning singer-songwriter and two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

Oct 19 – Host Michael Keaton with Musical Guest Billie Eilish

Michael Keaton will return to host SNL for the fourth time on Oct 19. The award-winning actor stars in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, currently in theaters, and Goodrich, in theaters Oct 18.

Billie Eilish will take the stage as musical guest for the fourth time. The Grammy®-winning artist will launch a worldwide tour this fall in support of her newest album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.

Nov 2 – Host John Mulaney with Musical Guest Chappell Roan

John Mulaney will host for the sixth time on Nov 2. The Emmy® winner stars in the new Broadway play, All In: Comedy About Love, opening Dec 11.

Chappell Roan will make her musical guest debut. Her album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, has spent 9 weeks in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 and her latest single “Good Luck, Babe!,” has amassed nearly 1 billion streams.

Nov 9 – Host Bill Burr with Musical Guest Mk.gee

Bill Burr will return as host for the second time on Nov 9. The Emmy® and Grammy® Award nominee is currently on tour with his Bill Burr Live show. 

Mk.gee will take the stage as a musical guest for the first time. He is currently on a world tour with his critically acclaimed debut album, Two Star & The Dream Police. 

Nov 16 – Host and Musical Guest Charli XCX

Charli XCX will pull double duty on Nov 16 in her first appearance as SNL host and third as musical guest. The Grammy®-nominated musician released her remix album, Brat and It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat, on Oct 11. 

Dec 7 – Host Paul Mescal with Musical Guest Shaboozey

Paul Mescal, who stars in Ridley Scott's Gladiator II, will make his SNL hosting debut on Dec 7. The Oscar®-nominated actor plays Hanno, the former heir to the Roman empire who returns home to fight as a gladiator. 

He will be joined by country singer Shaboozey, who also makes his first appearance. Shaboozey recently earned six Grammy® nominations, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" off his latest album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going. 

Dec 14 – Host Chris Rock with Musical Guest Gracie Abrams

Chris Rock returns to Studio 8H to host SNL for the fourth time on Dec 14. The former SNL cast member, who was part of the ensemble in the early 1990s, narrates and executive produces Comedy Central's Everybody Still Hates Chris, a reimagined version of the live-action comedy series based on his life, Everybody Hates Chris.

Singer Gracie Abrams will make her debut appearance. She is in the middle of a world tour in support of her album, The Secret of Us.

Dec 21 – Host Martin Short with Musical Guest Hozier

Martin Short takes the mic for the third time as SNL host on Dec 21 for the final episode of 2024. The Emmy®-winning comedian plays Oliver Putnam in Hulu's Only Murders in the Building, which wrapped its fourth season in October.

Hozier will be promoting Unreal Unearth: Unending, the deluxe edition of the album, Unreal Unearth, which is out Dec 6. This will mark his second SNL appearance.

What time is Saturday Night Live?

Watch on Peacock and NBC, live coast-to-coast, Saturdays at 11:30p ET. SNL will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebratory weekend culminating in a live primetime special on Sunday, Feb 16.
