First Look: Stephen Curry’s Mr. Throwback Streams Aug 8

On Aug 8, Peacock will premiere Mr. Throwback, a new mockumentary comedy series from executive producer and star Stephen Curry, and directed by David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer). 

In Mr. Throwback, a down-on-his-luck memorabilia dealer looks for redemption by reuniting with his sixth-grade teammate, NBA legend Steph Curry. The series also stars Adam Pally (The Mindy Project), Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live), and Ayden Mayeri (I Love That for You).

“I was excited to step into the world of scripted comedy with Mr. Throwback, a story with love for family and friends at its center,” Curry said, who’s taking on a scripted TV role for the first time. “I’m looking forward to viewers getting to see me play a version of myself no one has ever seen before, and hope they feel connected to the characters and the dilemmas they face throughout the series.”
