Peacock’s The Day of the Jackal Earns Two Golden Globe Nominations

International spy or Golden Globe nominee? Why not both?

By Nikkala Kovacevic

The world of The Day of the Jackal just got a little more exciting: the Peacock Original series is now nominated for two Golden Globes.

The international thriller follows Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne as an elusive assassin as he tries to escape the clutches of a British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch). Redmayne received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Lead Actor in a TV Series - Drama while the series was nominated for Best TV Series - Drama.

The nominations mark the second time a Peacock Origin was recognized by the Golden Globes, with the first being Poker Face in 2023. It’s also the first time a Peacock Original has been nominated in the drama series category.

The Day of the Jackal was also nominated for two Critics Choice Awards, for Redmayne’s leading role and for drama series.

Don’t worry, once awards season is finished, we won’t be leaving you with an Eddie Redmayne-shaped hole in your heart. The chase is back on for a second season! But before then, don’t miss the two-episode Season 1 finale on Dec 12 or binge the entire season on Peacock.

Stream The Day of the Jackal exclusively on Peacock.
