The Traitors Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

A huge “misfire” ends a big player’s game.

The Traitors Season 3 Episode 7

After narrowly surviving banishment in Episode 6, Boston Rob found himself in the hot seat yet again on The Traitors – only this time, his luck may have run out. The Survivor and Deal or No Deal Island alum is running out of places to hide and finding it harder to spin believable stories to get the other players off his scent. Still, he’s always up for a challenge, and he has a new target in mind as he tries to skate by another week.

Here’s what happened in the latest Season 3 episode of The Traitors, “Til Death Us Do Part.”

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Who Do the Traitors Murder?

Trying to get Boston Rob, Danielle Reyes, and Carolyn Wiger to agree on who to murder amid their in-fighting is nearly impossible. Boston Rob argues for Derrick Levasseur’s head because the Big Brother alum “came at [him] with everything he had” at the roundtable. Danielle shuts it down, leading to Carolyn’s suggestion that they go after Sam Asghari – a safe choice, but a waste of a murder, according to Danielle. They throw out Dylan Efron and Ciara Miller’s names, but those don't stick.

The Traitors circle back to Derrick at Boston Rob’s insistence. Danielle is visibly pained at the idea of ending a Big Brother colleague’s game, but she’s desperate to remain in Boston Rob and Carolyn’s good graces. And so, she eventually agrees to Derrick’s murder, making him the latest Faithful suspicious of Boston Rob’s antics to leave the castle. In the aftermath, Derrick says he knew he was next once he failed to pull off a coup against Boston Rob: “If I were in his position, I would have murdered me as well.”

Paranoia Central

Boston Rob is back to doing damage control, insisting that he’s being “framed” by the Traitors for Derrick’s murder. But Tom Sandoval has the foresight to question it, asking whether it’s a coincidence that the last three players who have been murdered were all suspicious of Boston Rob. Because he’s loyal to a fault, Dylan shares vital intel with his ally Boston Rob – that Derrick believed Britney Haynes is a Traitor. To Tom’s credit, he’s buying it, arguing that there’s solid evidence against Boston Rob and later telling Dylan that Boston Rob is very “likely” a Traitor.

With a new target in mind, Boston Rob touches base with Carolyn and Danielle about their new plan to get Britney banished. Danielle doesn’t want to be “strong-armed” to go after her Big Brother sister, however, cryptically saying that sometimes you must do what’s right instead of what someone else wants.

A Skin-Crawling Mission

For this week’s mission, the players choose their partners for a head-to-head matchup in a gothic wedding-inspired challenge. Everyone is dressed to the nines in red and black gowns and tuxes, while Alan Cumming looks dashing in a crisp white suit and accompanying floral adornment across his chest. The mission: Players hold hands with their partners for eight minutes to add money to the pot, and the winning pair of each match-up get shields. To make the task tougher, a combination of millipedes, cockroaches, scorpions, maggots, and other creepy crawlies, including a giant snake, are dumped on the players.

Some pairs thrive while others struggle. Chrishell Stause and Dolores Catania are eliminated in the first 15 seconds, making their foes Boston Rob and Ciara Miller the default winners of the shields. Because the other pairs are successful in completing the mission, adding $22,500 to the prize pot, they go to a tiebreaker. Sam and Ivar Mountbatten, and Danielle and Britney successfully find the rings in the boxes, meaning they’re safe from the next murder.

A Huge ‘Misfire’

The vibe is tense at the roundtable. Tom reminds everyone that they can’t ignore the mounting evidence Boston Rob, who does his best to pull off another misdirect – this time targeting Britiney. He makes the argument that Wes Bergmann and Derrick must have presumed they were both Faithfuls and came to conclusion that Boston Rob, as one of the “new guys,” is a Traitor. Boston Rob maintains that he’s a Faithful and always has been, claiming that by killing Derrick it “raises the suspicion on me,” so why would he do it?

Boston Rob argues that the only person who knew firsthand that Derrick didn’t have a shield in the previous mission was a member of his group, which included Britney, and therefore she’s the only one capable of pulling something like that off – eliminating Derrick and framing Boston Rob. This ruse may have worked before, but Britney immediately calls Boston Rob out on his lies, saying “confidently” that what he’s doing by putting the blame on her is “a misfire.”

Who Is Banished?

When the vote comes down, it’s not terribly close between Boston Rob and Britney, the two players on the chopping block. There are throwaway votes to keep the process unpredictable. Here are how the votes break down:

  • Boston Rob – Tom, Britney, Carolyn, Sam, Ivar, Danielle, Gabby

  • Britney – Ciara, Boston Rob

  • Tom – Chrishell, Dolores

  • Gabby – Dylan

The Traitors Season 3 Episode 7

At long last, the Boston Rob era has come to a dramatic end. “I have really enjoyed meeting you and playing this game with you,” he says in the Circle of Truth. “I am and always have been, from the very beginning, a Traitor.” His reveal inspires raucous celebration, as Danielle privately declares, “Finally, we have assassinated the Godfather!”

As Boston Rob reflects on his game play, he says he did his “absolute best.” “I understand why Carolyn was scared of me. She really had no reason to be,” he says to the camera. “I legitimately would have went to the end with her. As far as Danielle goes, I think she’s a bad Traitor, bad gameplayer, just bad all around. But I’m proud of the way that I handled myself.”

Turret Trio Is Now a Duo

There’s no rest for the wicked because remaining Traitors Danielle and Carolyn are now calling the shots, though the duo still have unresolved trust issues. The next murder will be thrilling because they will have to reveal themselves to their next victim. So, who will be the next player murdered: Tom, Dylan, Gabby, Chrishell, or Dolores? Just a few more sleeps until we find out.
