The Traitors Interview: Robyn Dixon on Why Targeting Housewives Is a 'Lame' Move
Being a Housewife doesn’t make you safe in the Scottish Highlands, apparently.

Are The Traitors specifically targeting the Housewives? That’s what RHOP’s Robyn Dixon, the latest Faithful to be murdered, believes. Three out of the four Housewives have been murdered by the Traitors since Season 3 began – the first being RHONY’s Dorinda Medley, followed by Dubai’s Chanel Ayan, and now Robyn. RHONJ’s Dolores Catania is the lone Housewife remaining.
Though her time in the castle was short, Robyn did her best reading the room and vocalizing which players she was suspicious of. But, in her mind, the Housewives were at a disadvantage before the game began – citing how Season 2 played out with RHOA alum Phaedra Parks’ strong gameplay as a Traitor. It didn’t help that the four Housewives “volunteered” to get off the boat in the first Season 3 mission, immediately putting targets on their backs.
To get the scoop on all things Traitors, Robyn hopped on Zoom to dish on what went wrong and how she reacted when she discovered the identities of the Traitors.
This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
Were you surprised that the Traitors wanted you out?
I didn't expect to be targeted so early. But when they murdered me, I was not surprised whatsoever because I felt like they saw me at the roundtable defend myself. And the only way to really get me out would be to murder me. I knew I was going to get murdered because the day before, during the mission, Bob the Drag Queen kept saying to me, "You need a shield," because I was busy helping bring the statues out and helping people get the bases up. And he was getting frustrated with me. After [Bob] was banished, I was like, he knows I need a shield because they want to murder me. So I knew that I was going to be murdered.
You were the third Housewife to be murdered. Do you think there's a vendetta against the Housewives this season?
Early on, all eyes were on the Housewives because of how the previous season was. But after the first couple of roundtables, I feel like the Faithfuls shifted any doubt or any suspicions of the Housewives. They were off us. It just became more about the Traitors wanting us out, which was disappointing because we're from Bravo. We want our Bravo viewers to root for us, and be entertained, and be excited. To see them picking us off one by one, it was so frustrating and so disappointing, and frankly, it was pretty lame. I thought, I'm gonna entertain and make TV, and these people here are just being lames, and strategizing and being gamers. Like, come on, give us a break!
Have you been watching the episodes? What surprised you the most?
Watching the episodes has been fun. But watching that last episode was frustrating because when it showed them in the turret murdering me, they didn't give a good reason. I was waiting for some big "aha" moment. They randomly picked me, and then watching the roundtable and watching everyone vote for Nikki... First of all, I was going to get Bob Boston Rob out that night. After the roundtable with Bob the Drag Queen, I knew Boston Rob was a Traitor. I was convinced. Watching the roundtable was so frustrating, I was like, I can't believe they're all voting for Nikki or Ciara. I came to realize, why would a Traitor put themselves in a casket? That was something that I realized – like, ding, ding, ding! – after Bob the Drag Queen was banished. No Traitors were going to put themselves in the casket. If I was there, I was going to defend Nikki, I was going to defend Ciara, and I was going to get Boston Rob out.
In terms of strategy, it seemed like the decision to banish Nikki came abruptly. Did it feel sudden to you?
Yeah, I was super surprised that that's how things went. I was surprised they were stuck on that, and I was so surprised that they didn't home in on Boston Rob. Later, when we do the "Traitors [US]: Revealed [Peacock's official YouTube aftershow] and they pull together the person that was murdered, and Nikki walks in, I'm like, "What? You're kidding me." I was so mad at them. And then to see how it went down, where almost everybody was on board with that. I was so shocked.
There were several instances where you felt very confident in your reads on who was a Traitor or a Faithful, or with what was going on in the castle. But you were usually a few degrees off. How difficult was it to be objective with your observations while in the castle?
I've watched The Traitors and as a viewer, I sit there and I'm like, "Oh my gosh, they're so stupid. How did they not see them? It's so obvious!" I was that viewer. Not till you're actually in it do you realize, wait a minute, this is not easy. As a viewer, you know who the Traitors are, so you know to watch the behavior of those four people. But we're in the house and we're watching the behavior of 20 other people, and a lot of them are people I've never met so we have nothing to go off. I'm pretty sure if I was there longer, things would become clearer, and it would become easier. I know other people's strategies were to be a little quieter about their thoughts because they don't want to be a target. I wasn't capable of doing that, like I spoke my mind. I wasn't going to sit there and be mute. I'm here to make TV, I'm here to be vocal. Unfortunately, they took me out before I could make an impact.
Who do you think is in the best spot right now game-wise?
Dylan is playing a great game. He definitely is the Pistol Pete of the season. It's the quiet guys like Ivar and Sam, I see them sticking around for a while. I would love to see Dolores go all the way and win it, so hopefully they stop targeting the Housewives.
If you were asked to play The Traitors again, would you do it?
Absolutely, I would do it again. I'm like, I want a do-over!
What was your reaction to learning the identities of Traitors?
I was so shocked by Carolyn. I didn't know her from a can of paint, but from my interactions with her, it was always, "My dog." That was her focus – her dog. When I learned that she was a Traitor, I was like, she's going to win. But now, seeing what's going on there, she's not going to win. Danielle threw me for a loop because she was so dramatic and so emotional. She had a lot to say. Same thing with Bob the Drag Queen. He was all over the place, and so I'm like, "Okay, I would not ever be that vocal or that emotional or that dramatic." I made the mistake of overlooking them because of that.
