Week 11 of the NFL season brings us another thriller on Sunday Night Football. End the day with the biggest game of the week as we head to Inglewood, CA where the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Los Angeles Chargers.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Bengals (4–6, 3rd in AFC North) had a rough start to the season, opening with three straight losses to the Patriots, Chiefs, and Commanders. Their first win came against the Panthers, and though they lost the following week to the Ravens, they were showing some promise. Going the distance with Baltimore and forcing the game into overtime is not easy, no matter the final result. Since then, they’ve taken three more wins over the Giants, Browns, and Raiders. Though they lost again to Baltimore last week, they were only one point behind. Whatever their record may tell you, this team can play.

Quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase are lethal when they’re in sync, which is pretty much all the time now. Chase is the best receiver in the league with 981 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Meanwhile, Burrow has thrown for 24 touchdowns and four interceptions. Despite some losses on their record, this duo has been getting it done for the Bengals. They’ll need to stay hot when they head to LA this weekend. This game is a must-win for the Bengals, both to save their post season chances and to provide a morale boost to carry them through the rest of the season. The offense needs to be fast and efficient to get past the Chargers defense and run up the score. Meanwhile, the defense needs to play like they did at the beginning of last week’s Baltimore matchup. If they can force three-and-outs consistently and give the offence more chances to score, the Bengals will get the win.

The Chargers (6–3, 2nd in AFC South) took a few tough losses in the first couple months of the season but have seen considerably more ups than downs. New head coach Jim Harbaugh has turned this team into a legit playoff contender. If they played in a division that didn’t include the Chiefs, they might be in first place right now. Historically, the second half of the season has been where things get tough for the Chargers, and Harbaugh is hoping to make sure that doesn't happen. Under him, quarterback Justin Herbert is having his best year so far. He’s taking more chances, and they’re paying off. He has 11 passing touchdowns this season with only one interception. He’ll need to keep up that pace this Sunday against a Bengals team looking to score at all costs.

The real story of this season has been the Chargers defense. Behind defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, this unit has become the best in the NFL, allowing a league-fewest 13.1 points per game. They’ll face a big test on Sunday night against Cincinnati’s efficient passing offense. While the Chargers’ season might not rest on this game, it’s still important to win this one. The schedule doesn’t get any easier from here on out. If this defense is going to stop any of the teams coming up, they need to be able to shut down the Burrow-Chase duo. They may have some help in that department this weekend. Cornerback Kristian Fulton has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, but is confident he’ll be ready to go on Sunday night. That will be a huge boost for an already hot defense. He’s gotten one interception this season, and is hoping to add many more to that total. If the defense can stay at the top of their game against the Bengals, the Chargers can expect a big win at home.
