Week 16 of the NFL season brings us another thriller on Sunday Night Football. End the weekend with Sunday's biggest game as we head to Arlington, TX where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Dallas Cowboys.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Buccaneers (8–6, 1st in NFC South) hold their division by just one game, so they need everything to go right to hang onto that playoff spot. So far, things are looking good. The Bucs are coming off a four-game winning streak, and it could only get better from here. Despite facing one of the best defenses in the league last week against the Chargers, the Bucs managed to rout them 40–17. With talented rookies on offense, including running back Bucky Irving and Wide receiver Jalen McMillan, everything seems to be clicking for Tampa Bay at just the right time in the season. Nobody should write off last weekend’s performance as a fluke either. Though this team only has eight wins, they’ve managed to beat the Eagles, the Lions, and the Commanders this season. When this team is hot, underestimate them at your peril.

Despite concerns over a knee injury, quarterback Baker Mayfield was a full participant in practice on Thursday and looks like he’ll be all good to go come Sunday Night. That should help keep the surge alive. He’s thrown for 3,617 yards and 32 touchdowns this season. This team has seen a few shootouts this season, and thanks to Mayfield, they’re able to hang with, and even beat, some of the league’s best offenses. Things appear to be clicking on the other side of the ball too. Over the last three games, the Bucs have become the fifth-best defense in the league, allowing only 286.3 yards per game. It’ll be crucial to keep that up in Dallas, but if they can do it, and the offense stays hot, the Bucs could get one game closer to clinching the division on Sunday night.

The Cowboys (6–8, 3rd in NFC East) didn’t have the season they hoped for, but things have started looking up in recent weeks. Losing quarterback Dak Prescott to injury was a huge blow, but backup QB Cooper Rush has stepped up, improving each week and leading the Cowboys to a 30–14 rout of the Panthers last week. Tampa Bay’s defense will present a tough test for Rush, but if the last four weeks are anything to go by, he’s up to it. Since taking over for Prescott, Rush has scored nine touchdowns and only thrown two interceptions. The only downside is he’s had difficulty hanging onto the ball. Rush has the third-most fumbles in the league. That is something that can quickly improve though. Rush has made it a focal point in practice, and if he can cut down on those turnovers, this will be a scary looking offense on Sunday night.

Especially if wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is healthy. Lamb was a full participant in practice on Thursday, so at time of writing, it looks like he’ll be ready to go by Sunday. That’s good news for Dallas since the part of the Buccaneers’ defense that’s fallen short this season is their pass defense. If Lamb can get open, he’s catching that ball more often than not. And we’ve all seen what he can do with it after the catch. Things could be looking up for the Cowboys and not a moment too soon. A loss on Sunday would eliminate them from playoff contention. The whole season rests on this game, and you can bet they’ll be playing like it. Keeping their postseason hopes alive in front of the home crowd should fire up this whole team. If they can stay hot, they’ll be standing tall on Sunday Night.
