How to Watch Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons: Stream on Peacock LIVE, Schedule, Kickoff Time
The 2024 NFL regular season is in full swing, and that means more Sunday Night Football every week. Cap off the weekend with a massive matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons.
Week 3 of the NFL season brings us another thriller on Sunday Night Football. End the day with the biggest game of the week. Peacock and NBC head to Atlanta, GA, where the Kansas City Chiefs take on the hometown Falcons.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Chiefs (2–0) came into the 2024-25 season off back-to-back Super Bowl wins, and already look like they could make it three in a row. Once again, the dream team of head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes is getting it done for Kansas City. Of course, Mahomes is also working with a talented wide receiver corps that includes Rashee Rice and new draftee Xavier Worthy (Texas), who claimed the 40-yard dash record at the NFL Combine last spring. Two weeks in, the team appears to have addressed the dropped-pass issues that plagued them last season. (Not that that stopped them from winning it all.)
That’s not to say the Chiefs will have an easy night on Sunday. They haven’t lost a game yet, but both of their wins have been uncomfortably close. Tight end Travis Kelce, usually one of Mahomes’ top playmakers, is off to a slow start with no touchdowns and only 39 receiving yards. The Chiefs are also having trouble at running back with Isiah Pacheco out for at least four weeks. That puts more pressure on Mahomes to make big plays, and if Atlanta’s defense can take those away, this team could be in trouble. Let’s be real here, though. It’s still Mahomes and it’s still Andy Reid’s Chiefs. They play some of the most fun football in the NFL and may very well take another win on Sunday Night.
The Falcons (1–1) may have just the kind of defense that will give Kansas City trouble this weekend. Despite the team taking a loss in the first week, they were able to hold off the Eagles in Week 2 and have only allowed two touchdowns in as many games. They were even able to force a turnover on downs. When this team needs to defend every inch, they can rise to the occasion. New head coach Raheem Morris and defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake have brought a fast, physical, adaptive style to the defense that may be able to force a few key turnovers on Sunday night.
Over on offense, quarterback Kirk Cousins showed massive improvement last week. Week 1 was Cousins’ first game since he tore an Achilles tendon last year. He may have struggled in the 18–10 loss to the Steelers, but if Week 2 was anything to go by, Cousins just needed to shake some rust off. Though the Falcons had only scored one touchdown in the first three quarters of the game, everything started to click for the Falcons in the fourth. With less than two minutes on the clock, Cousins completed five of six passes to four different receivers. The last of those passes found wide receiver Drake London, netting the Falcons a 22–21 win. That’s the kind of efficiency this team is capable of, and if Cousins can stay hot like that, the Falcons might be handing the Chiefs their first loss of the season.
