How to Watch Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings: Stream on Peacock LIVE, Schedule, Kickoff Time
The 2024 NFL regular season is in full swing, and that means Sunday Night Football every week. Cap off the weekend with a massive matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings.
Week 9 of the NFL season brings us another thriller on Sunday Night Football. End the day with the biggest game of the week as we head to Minneapolis, MN where the Indianapolis Colts take on the Minnesota Vikings.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Colts (4–4, 2nd in AFC South) have been hit-and-miss through the first half of the season. While they’ve lost games to the Texans, the Packers, and the Jaguars, they’ve posted respectable wins over the Bears, Steelers, Titans, and Dolphins. Those wins alone should give Colts fans hope going into any matchup. This will be a different-looking Colts than we’ve seen all season. After second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson struggled in the first half of the season, he will be on the bench this Sunday and veteran QB Joe Flacco will take his place. Best known for his Ravens tenure that included a Super Bowl win, Flacco has since played QB for the Broncos, Jets, Eagles, and Browns. Last season, he led the Browns to a playoff appearance after becoming the starter in Week 13. The Colts are hoping he can do the same for them this year.
Helping Flacco out will be one of the best offensive lines in football. They’re great at protecting their QB in the pocket and giving him enough time to make plays. They’ll also open up lanes for running back Jonathan Taylor, who is absolutely dangerous when he gets some space in front of him. If the O-line can keep options open for both Taylor and Flacco, the Colts will be back above .500 on Monday.
The Vikings (5–2, 3rd in NFC North) have had a phenomenal season despite their place in the division. The NFC North has emerged as the most competitive division in the NFL. Every team has a winning record through eight weeks. That didn’t look like it was going to be the case before the season started. The Vikings drafted quarterback J.J. McCarthy out of Michigan and expected that he would be the starter this season, but a torn meniscus in the preseason ended McCarthy’s rookie season before it started. Instead, QB Sam Darnold took the helm and commanded this team to a 6–0 start. Yes, the Vikings are coming off a two-game losing streak, but those were their first two losses of the whole season. Darnold has excelled on this Vikings team, completing 67.2 percent of his passes for a total (so far) of 1,610 yards and 14 touchdowns.
He’ll get some help this week too, with tight end T.J. Hockenson back in the game for the first time this season. Hockenson should give the Vikings a much-needed midrange passing option, allowing Darnold to get the ball out quicker and drive down the field with even more efficiency. Even the threat of Hockenson on the field may be enough to allow wide receiver Justin Jefferson to get open quicker and add to his impressive 646-yard, 5 touchdown season. All the ingredients are here for the Vikings to snap the losing streak on Sunday Night.
