John Cena will compete at Elimination Chamber: Toronto only on Peacock

The Road to WrestleMania is one of the most exciting periods of the WWE calendar. Starting with the Royal Rumble in January and continuing for nearly three straight months, the WWE Universe gets to witness intense matchups and unforgettable promos as the biggest Superstars fight for a spot at the big event in April. Two WWE Superstars will punch their ticket to a WrestleMania championship match this Saturday at Elimination Chamber.

What is Elimination Chamber?

Elimination Chamber is an annual WWE Premium Live Event. It’s named for the Elimination Chamber Match, where six competitors face off inside a giant steel structure with the floor of the chamber raised to ring-level. Two Superstars start in the ring with the remaining four locked inside cages on each corner. Every few minutes, a random cage opens, adding another Superstar to the fray. When a Superstar is on the receiving end of a pinfall or submission, they are eliminated from the match. The last Superstar standing wins and earns a championship match at WrestleMania.

Who won Elimination Chamber last year?

Elimination Chamber: Perth was held in Australia on Feb 24, 2024. Becky Lynch won the women’s Elimination Chamber match, defeating Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Naomi, Raquel Rodriguez, and Tiffany Stratton. Lynch went on to face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania XL for the Women’s World Championship. Drew McIntyre won the men’s Elimination Chamber match, defeating Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, Logan Paul, and Randy Orton. McIntyre went on to face Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.

Who has been in the most Elimination Chamber matches?

Randy Orton has been involved in the most Elimination Chamber matches with nine appearances. His most recent was in 2024 at Elimination Chamber: Perth.

What Are the Matches for Elimination Chamber: Toronto?

Elimination Chamber: Toronto features, at time of writing, four scheduled matches. The men’s Elimination Chamber match will feature John Cena, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, Damian Priest, and Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Cena has announced that 2025 will be his final year with WWE. His goal is to win Elimination Chamber and earn one more world title before he retires. He’ll face stiff competition as every other Superstar in this match wants to take the Undisputed WWE Championship off of Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.

The women’s Elimination Chamber match features Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Naomi, and Roxanne Perez. Morgan, as part of the Judgement Day, has been feuding with Belair and Naomi in recent weeks. They suspect Morgan of injuring Belair’s regular tag team partner Jade Cargill. That could all come to a head when the three Superstars meet inside the chamber.

We’ll also get a tag team match featuring some of the biggest Superstars in WWE’s women’s division. Tiffany Stratton will team up with Trish Stratus to take on Nia Jax and Candice LaRea. Jax and Stratton used to be allies, but Stratton turned on Jax at the beginning of the year, cashing in her Money in the Bank contract to take Jax’s WWE Women’s Championship from her. Stratus and LaRea got involved in the feud at the Royal Rumble, when Stratus eliminated LaRea and Jax eliminated Stratus. Now, everyone in this match is out for revenge. Even if no titles are on the line, there’s enough bad blood to make this match a must-watch.

If you’re looking for bad blood though, this next match will have all you can handle: Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens. These former best friends have had their differences in the past, but nothing like this. After Zayn didn’t help Owens win the Undisputed WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, Owen’s turned on Zayn, attacking him in the middle of the ring. A package piledriver injured Zayn’s neck, meaning WWE could not sanction a match at Elimination Chamber. As a result, this match is Unsanctioned. That means no rules. The referee won’t stop the match and will only be there to name a winner. A pinfall or submission could happen anywhere: Middle of the ring, on the announcers’ table, backstage, the stadium concourse... I’m pretty sure they could take this to the parking lot if they wanted to.

The final event added to the card isn’t a match... yet. On the Feb 21 edition of Smackdown, The Rock made Cody Rhodes an offer: Become his champion. If Rhodes sells his soul to The Rock, fame and fortune await. If he doesn’t... well, we’ll see what happens. The Rock gave Rhodes until Elimination Chamber to decide. The decision, and whatever consequences follow, will play out LIVE on Saturday night.
