How to Watch Manchester United v. Everton: Stream on Peacock LIVE, Schedule, Kickoff Time
The 2024/25 Premier League season continues this weekend when Everton visits Manchester United at Old Trafford for Matchweek 13.
In what will be Ruben Amorim’s first Premier League game at the Theater of Dreams, Manchester United host Everton this weekend in a must-win game for the Red Devils’ new manager.
Manchester United v. Everton
With two games under his belt, Man United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim will be looking to build a strong run of form heading into the festive period. With only a couple of training sessions with the full squad last week, Amorim did not have enough time to fully implement his system before the club’s draw against Ipswich. Now having a week under his belt to dictate his style to the players, Amorim will be hoping the team’s performance improves against Everton. To walk away with a victory on Sunday, United will rely on Bruno Fernandes yet again to lead the team. Fernandes and his teammates are still learning the ins and outs of the manager’s new system. During this adjustment period, Bruno’s creativity and leadership will be crucial for United to take control of the game. Together with Fernandes, Marcus Rashford will be vital for creating chances against a stout Everton defense. With Everton likely to sit in and let United come at them, Rashford’s ability to take players on one-on-one and run in behind will be vital for the Red Devils to score. His position as a lone striker is another factor to keep an eye on given his preference for the left wing. The biggest question marks lie in United’s midfield and defense. With a plethora of players returning from injury or close to full fitness again, such as Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, and even Leny Yoro, it will be interesting to see who Amorim selects to start on Sunday. With all of these players eager to impress their new manager, United should be fired up for this game and the home supporters will be hoping for a noticeable improvement in the team’s performance.
Currently sitting in 15th place and two points off the relegation zone, Everton have had back-to-back 0-0 draws against West Ham and Brentford in their last two matches. Everton have struggled to score goals this season with only 10 scored in 12 games, which is the second lowest team total in the entire league. On the flip side, they have kept four clean sheets this season, tied for third best in the league. With a stubborn defense and an attack creating few chances to score, they will hope to catch United on the break. To help lead the counter, Everton will look to Iliman Ndiaye to use his pace and dribbling ability against defenders. If Everton can create a goal-scoring opportunity, it will likely come from Ndiaye, but Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin both have the talent to cause United problems as well. Defensively, James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite have formed a formidable center-back partnership. Together with Jordan Pickford, Everton’s defense will make it difficult for United to break them down. If Everton have any hope at ruining Amorim’s Old Trafford homecoming, they will need to survive United’s early onslaught and rely on their pace to counter.
