How to Watch Backlash LIVE
WWE’s first Premium Live Event after WrestleMania is coming up. We’ll show you how to see it all.
After an event as huge as WrestleMania Goes Hollywood, of course there would be some Backlash. The drama and action of WWE never stops, and after Cody Rhodes’ loss to Roman Reigns on WrestleMania Sunday (not to mention what happened on Raw the night after), the WWE Universe is eager to see what happens next. The feuds kicked off at WrestleMania and the immediate aftermath will be settled soon in Puerto Rico when Bad Bunny hosts Backlash.
What Is Backlash?
Backlash is WWE’s first Premium Live Event after WrestleMania. That is one tough act to follow, but there’s plenty to be excited about here. The matches on the card will likely shape the coming months of WWE. They’re also the result of feuds that either began or intensified at WrestleMania and Raw the night after.
Where Will Backlash Take Place?
This year, Backlash will take place at Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It’s the first time WWE has brought a Premium Live Event to Puerto Rico since New Year’s Revolution back in 2005.
Adding to the excitement, the show will be hosted by Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny. The pop from the crowd alone is reason enough to catch this one live. Bad Bunny is a huge WWE fan and even got involved in a match at WrestleMania. It's only natural that he’d have a match here too. On the Apr 24 episode of Raw, Bad Bunny attacked Damian Priest. Now, the two will face each other in a street fight match at Backlash. The crowd is going to go absolutely wild for that one.
What Time Does Backlash Start?
Backlash follows a similar format to other Premium Live Events throughout the year. Where WrestleMania was such a massive show it took over two nights, Backlash will pack every awesome moment into one. Backlash starts May 6 at 8E/5P.
What Time Is the Kickoff Show for Backlash
Like every Premium Live Event, Backlash will be preceded by a Kickoff Show. You’ll watch interviews, match previews, and predictions before the show starts. Watch the Backlash Kickoff Show May 6 at 7E/4P.
What Can We Expect from Backlash
Aside from the Street Fight between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest, we’ve got a six-man tag-team match between Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Matt Riddle, and The Bloodline: Jimmy and Jay Uso, and Solo Sikoa. Headlining the show will be Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes after Lesnar attacked Rhodes at Raw After WrestleMania. Those are the most anticipated matches of the night, building on the hottest feuds WWE has going right now. The exciting part is that all feel like they could go either way. Whatever happens at Backlash, it will be a surprise. That’s a fun place to be.
Also on the card, Bianca Belair will defend her championship against Iyo Sky. The EST seems unbeatable, but Sky has been on a hot streak lately. She’s fantastic in the ring and this is going to be one amazing fight. Rhea Ripley is also defending her championship against Zelina Vega. Every Ripley match has been a thriller, and we expect this to be no different. Seth Freakin’ Rollins will try to put down Omos, which is sure to have the crowd on their feet, singing Seth’s theme song. Then there’s the United States Championship, which Austin Theory will have to defend in a triple-threat match with Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley. Theory may seem to be at a disadvantage there, but he’s always found ways to come out victorious in the past. Even John Cena couldn’t take the title from him at WrestleMania. Every one of these matches has the potential to be an all-time great.
